Gisburn in Ribble Valley, Lancashire, England is a compact rural village on the edge of the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, set among rolling Pennine foothills and close to Gisburn Forest. The settlement sits by the River Ribble and lies within convenient reach of market towns such as Clitheroe and Skipton, making it popular with walkers, cyclists and day-trippers from nearby cities.
Gisburn has historic roots – it was transferred from the West Riding of Yorkshire in the 1974 local-government changes – and is notable for nearby Gisburne Park, an estate with a Georgian country house now used for hospitality and events.
