Keighley is a market town in the Worth Valley, part of the metropolitan borough of Bradford in West Yorkshire, England. It sits where the steep-sided valleys of the River Worth and River Aire begin to give way to the lower moors, making the surrounding hills and good rail and road links an important feature of its geography.
Once a 19th-century textile and engineering centre, the town still shows its industrial Victorian heritage in mills and terraces but now has a mixed economy of light industry, retail and tourism; the nearby heritage steam line and the proximity of Haworth and the Yorkshire Dales attract visitors. Keighley has a diverse, community-focused population, lively markets and cultural events, and a compact town centre with surviving period architecture.
