Pilling is a low-lying coastal village and civil parish in the district of Wyre, Lancashire, England, lying on the southern fringe of Morecambe Bay. Its landscape of reclaimed salt marshes and tidal flats gives it a distinctive, flat horizon and makes the area important for wading birds and coastal ecology; historically those marshes and shifting tides shaped local life and could leave the village relatively isolated at times.
The local economy still leans on agriculture and market gardening, with some small-scale fishing heritage and commuters travelling to nearby towns. Community life is strong around the village hall, pubs and St John the Baptist Church, and the quiet coastal setting draws birdwatchers and walkers as well as those who value a rural, close-knit community.
