Armley is a working‑class ward to the west of Leeds city centre, sitting beside the River Aire and the Leeds and Liverpool Canal. It’s marked by a strong industrial heritage - the vast textile sheds of Armley Mills now house the Leeds Industrial Museum - and by the legacy of Victorian institutions, including the old local prison.
