Weetwood is a residential ward on the north‑west edge of Leeds, characterised by leafy suburbs, a mix of Victorian and interwar housing and pockets of student accommodation thanks to its proximity to the universities. The area is centred on Weetwood Hall, a historic manor now in university use, and benefits from good bus links into the city alongside local shopping parades and cafés.
Originally part of rural estates that suburbanised in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the ward today combines family communities, commuters and students with active local groups and plenty of green space and sports facilities, giving it a quieter, residential feel compared with neighbouring Headingley and the city centre.
