Thurnby and Bushby is a civil parish in the district of Harborough, in Leicestershire, lying a short distance to the east of the city of Leicester. The two adjoining villages grew from medieval and agricultural origins and now sit on the city’s fringe, offering convenient access to urban amenities while backing onto open countryside and a network of footpaths.
The area retains a distinctly village character, with historic buildings, a parish church, local shops, pubs and active community organisations including sports clubs and a parish council. Many residents commute into Leicester, but a lively programme of local events, volunteer groups and conservation-minded development help preserve a strong local identity and the sense of rural-urban balance that makes the parish popular with families.
