The village and civil parish of Freiston lies a few miles south‑east of Boston in Lincolnshire, situated on the reclaimed fenland at the edge of The Wash. The area is characteristically flat and criss‑crossed by drainage dykes, with salt marshes and a coastal reserve at Freiston Shore that attracts wintering and migratory waders and geese.
