Marshchapel and Somercotes is a quiet, largely rural ward in East Lindsey on the coastal plain of Lincolnshire in England, sitting between the larger towns of Grimsby and Louth and close to the North Sea. The landscape is characterised by low-lying reclaimed marshland and farmland, with small nucleated villages rather than any large urban centre.
Locally the area has a strong agricultural feel and a tight-knit village community, with historic buildings such as the old parish church in Marshchapel and a handful of village amenities, pubs and clubs. It also attracts walkers and birdwatchers drawn to the coastal marshes and quiet lanes, while many residents commute to nearby towns for work and services.
