Boleyn sits in the London Borough of Newham in East London, centred around the Upton Park and Green Street corridors. It takes its name from the historic Boleyn family and is best known for the former Boleyn Ground, the long‑serving home of West Ham United until 2016; that site and surrounding land have seen significant housing and mixed‑use redevelopment since the club moved to the London Stadium in Stratford.
The area is ethnically diverse with prominent South Asian and Afro‑Caribbean communities, reflected in busy high streets, independent shops and a wide range of eateries along Green Street. Good transport links, notably Upton Park tube, and proximity to the Olympic Park have encouraged regeneration, creating a mix of traditional working‑class roots, new development pressures and an active local community and sporting culture.
