Griston is a small village and civil parish in the district of Breckland, in Norfolk, England. It sits on the edge of the characteristic Breckland landscape of sandy soil, open heath and mixed farmland, and is a few miles from the market towns of Watton and Swaffham, with quiet lanes and country walks linking it to the surrounding countryside.
The village has a mainly agricultural character but has also been shaped by nearby institutions: the former airfield at RAF Watton influenced local employment in the 20th century, and HMP Wayland lies close by. Socially it retains the feel of a small rural community with village events, a village hall and local clubs, and the Breckland heathland around it is noted for distinctive wildlife and birdlife.
