Shipdham with Scarning is a largely rural ward in Breckland, Norfolk, England, made up of the two adjacent villages and surrounding farmland. The landscape is typical east‑of‑England countryside of arable fields, hedgerows and small pockets of heath, and the area sits within easy reach of market Dereham and the regional centre of Norwich.
Locally the ward has a strong community feel, centred on village halls, parish churches, pubs and annual fetes, while agriculture remains important alongside a number of commuters who travel to nearby towns. A distinctive feature is Shipdham Airfield, a former RAF base with Second World War associations that now contributes to local identity and occasional aviation‑related activities.
