Happisburgh is a small coastal parish in North Norfolk, Norfolk, England, set on a shingle beach and low soft cliffs facing the North Sea. It’s best known for its distinctive red-and-white lighthouse and for dramatic coastal erosion that regularly reshapes the shoreline; the foreshore also produced internationally important archaeological finds, including ancient human footprints dating to around 800,000 years ago.
Locally the economy mixes agriculture, small-scale fishing and tourism - birdwatchers and walkers are common visitors - and the community remains close-knit, with local groups and the parish council often focused on coastal protection, heritage and managing the pressures of visitors and second homes.
