Horning is a village on the River Bure in the Norfolk Broads, part of the North Norfolk district of Norfolk, England. Its riverside setting of reedbeds, winding channels and thatched cottages makes it a classic Broads village and a popular base for boating, kayaking and birdwatching; it sits close to Wroxham and within easy reach of Norwich.
Historically the settlement grew around river trade and boatbuilding, and today the local economy is largely driven by tourism - boat hire, waterside pubs, holiday lets and small local businesses - while conservation groups work to protect the wetland landscape. Despite the seasonal influx of visitors, Horning retains a small community feel with a historic church, village events and regular regattas that celebrate its maritime character.
