Hoveton and Wroxham sit either side of the River Bure in the heart of the Norfolk Broads in North Norfolk, England, with Wroxham often billed as the "capital of the Broads." The area is defined by its waterways and reedbeds - popular for hire boats, marinas and wildlife watching around Wroxham Broad - and is easily reached by the Bittern Line train to Norwich, which brings day-trippers as well as committed boaters and birdwatchers.
Both settlements have long roots as rural river communities but today rely heavily on tourism, boatyards, hospitality and retail (including the well‑known Roys of Wroxham), while balancing conservation of sensitive wetlands. The social scene is a blend of local year‑round residents, riverside businesses and seasonal visitors, with community events and regattas keeping the place lively through the summer months.
