Poppyland

Poppyland is an electoral ward in North Norfolk, Norfolk, England, straddling part of the famous north Norfolk coast around Cromer. It combines open farmland, chalk and glacial cliffs, sandy beaches and salt marshes and lies partly within the Norfolk Coast AONB, making it a draw for birdwatchers and coastal walkers.

The name was popularised in the late 19th century and the area still carries a Victorian seaside feel in its promenades and small resort villages; the local economy leans on tourism, holiday lets, fishing and agriculture. Communities tend to be small and relatively ageing, so conservation, coastal erosion and the balance between visitors and rural livelihoods are steady local concerns.
