West Runton is a compact coastal village on the North Norfolk coast in Norfolk, England, prized for its long sandy/pebbly beach, low-tide rock pools and grassy cliffs. It’s well known among fossil hunters for important Pleistocene remains found on the foreshore, and the village’s economy leans on tourism, holiday parks and coastal walking; there’s also a small station on the Bittern Line linking to Norwich and other towns.
Beeston Regis sits just inland and feels quieter and more village-like, with a medieval priory ruin and the attractive Beeston Regis Common - a patchwork of dunes and wildflower pasture popular with birdwatchers and walkers. The community retains a strong local character with pubs, B&Bs and a history tied to farming and coastal trade, valued today for its tranquillity and easy access to the Norfolk coast.
