Forncett is a rural community in South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, lying a short drive south of Norwich. The area comprises the neighbouring villages of Forncett St Peter and Forncett St Mary, set among rolling arable farmland, lanes and footpaths, with small waterways such as the River Tas contributing to the classic Norfolk countryside character.
Historically the villages grew around medieval churches and were once linked by a local railway station; today the economy remains largely agricultural with a fair number of commuters to Norwich and small local businesses. Community life is lively for a village of its size, and the presence of the Forncett Industrial Steam Museum gives it a particular cultural and historic interest for visitors and steam enthusiasts.
