Long Stratton is a large village and small town in the district of South Norfolk, in the county of Norfolk, England. It sits on the busy A140 corridor roughly between Norwich and Diss, which gives it a mix of commuter traffic and local trade; the settlement grew where an old road crossing created a focus for shops, services and parish life.
The place has a long history reflected in its older buildings and parish church, but today the economy is largely local retail, light industry and commuting to larger centres. Socially there’s an active community with sports clubs, societies and ongoing local campaigns - most notably long-running calls for an A140 bypass to ease congestion through the town centre - so it feels like a service hub with a village atmosphere rather than a purely dormitory suburb.
