Waltham is a large village and civil parish on the western edge of Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire, sitting at the foot of the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds and within easy reach of the Humber Estuary. Its most recognisable feature is the white windmill on the hill, a locally cherished landmark and community focal point that can be seen for miles and attracts visitors and events to the village.
Historically agricultural in character - the name likely comes from Old English for a homestead by the woods - Waltham now combines rural surroundings with the convenience of nearby industry and ports, so many residents commute to Grimsby and Immingham. The village retains a strong community feel with local shops, pubs, schools, sports clubs and regular events centred around the windmill and village hall.
