Messingham is a large village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, lying a few miles north of Scunthorpe. It sits in a gently rolling, mainly agricultural landscape with nearby wetlands and river corridors, most notably the River Trent and associated nature areas that make the locality popular with birdwatchers and walkers.
The village has historic roots stretching back several centuries and retains a traditional parish church, village hall, pubs and local shops alongside modern commuter housing. Historically centred on farming, the local economy now combines agriculture with residents who work in Scunthorpe and other towns; socially it’s known for an active community life, clubs, sports teams and seasonal events that keep a strong village feel.
