Wistow is a small village and civil parish in North Yorkshire, England, lying a few miles south‑east of the city of York and close to the market town of Selby. It occupies the flat, agricultural plain of the Vale of York, so the surrounding landscape is largely farmland with good road links that make the village part agricultural and part commuter settlement for nearby centres.
The village has a long local history reflected in its parish church and the nearby country house of Wistow Hall, and village life tends to be quietly community‑focused with occasional local events and a strong rural feel. Its proximity to waterways and the River Ouse regionally means easy access to riverside walks and the wider historic and economic network of the Selby–York area.
