Cotgrave

Cotgrave is a small town and civil parish in the borough of Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire, England, sitting amid rolling farmland about seven miles south‑east of Nottingham on the edge of the Vale of Belvoir. It has a compact centre of shops and housing and feels more like a large village, with surrounding countryside and good access to the city making it popular with commuters.

Historically Cotgrave grew up as a coal‑mining community centred on the mid‑20th‑century colliery; after the pit closed in the late 1980s the site was reclaimed as green space with a lake and walking trails, which now anchor local leisure and wildlife.
