Ardley is a small village and civil parish in the district of Cherwell, Oxfordshire, lying roughly three miles north of Bicester and within easy reach of Oxford. The parish includes the hamlet of Fewcott and occupies gently rolling farmland; a compact village core of stone cottages and a parish church gives it a traditionally rural feel.
Historically the local economy was farming-led, but good road links to the A43 and the M40 corridor have brought commuter households and some light industrial and service activity to the edges of the parish. That mix of agricultural character, a quietly active community life and modern development pressures makes Ardley typical of many small Oxfordshire villages adapting to 21st-century change.
