Garsington is a small village and civil parish in the district of South Oxfordshire, in the county of Oxfordshire, England, lying a few miles southeast of Oxford. It sits on gently rolling countryside at the edge of the Chilterns foothills and combines agricultural land with mainly residential streets, with a number of residents commuting into Oxford.
The village is best known for Garsington Manor, once the home of Lady Ottoline Morrell and a salon for writers and artists in the early 20th century; that cultural legacy helped spawn the much-loved Garsington Opera, which began in the Manor gardens before moving to Wormsley. Despite its literary associations, Garsington retains a village atmosphere with a parish community, local events and historic buildings that give it an outsized cultural reputation for its size.
