Wheatley is a village in the district of South Oxfordshire, in the county of Oxfordshire, England. Sitting on a modest hill to the east of Oxford, it offers pleasant views across the Vale of Oxford towards the Chilterns and still shows traces of its coaching‑route past in surviving inns and a compact village centre clustered around the church and green.
Today Wheatley has a mixed suburban–rural character: local shops, schools and community groups sit alongside a sizeable commuter population drawn to Oxford and London by convenient road links. The village also remembers its 19th‑ and 20th‑century transport history - a local railway station closed in the 1960s - and retains an active social life centred on pubs, clubs and annual community events.
