Horspath is a small village and civil parish in South Oxfordshire, in the county of Oxfordshire, England, lying a few miles to the east of central Oxford and close to the suburb of Cowley. It sits on the edge of the hill and woodland of Shotover, with easy access to Shotover Country Park and a network of footpaths and bridleways that give good views across the city and surrounding countryside.
Originally a medieval farming community - traces of ridge-and-furrow and old field patterns remain visible - the village later hosted small-scale industry such as brickmaking and was once linked to local rail services. Today Horspath retains a distinctly village feel, with a parish church, village hall and pub, active local clubs and events, and is popular with people who commute into Oxford while valuing its rural setting.
