Ridgeway is an electoral ward in the Vale of White Horse district of Oxfordshire, England. It covers a patchwork of small villages and rolling chalk downland on the edge of the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and takes its name from the ancient Ridgeway National Trail, with nearby prehistoric sites such as the Uffington White Horse and hillforts giving the area a distinctly long-standing historic character.
Economically it remains largely rural, with farming, small businesses and village services supplemented by tourism from walkers and history enthusiasts, while many residents commute to larger centres such as Oxford and Swindon. Community life tends to centre on parish councils, village halls, local pubs and seasonal fĂȘtes, and conservation and heritage are important to local planning and identity.
