Childrey is a small village and civil parish in the Vale of White Horse district of Oxfordshire, England, historically part of Berkshire until the 1974 boundary changes. It perches on chalk downland above the lowlands, close to the ancient Ridgeway and within sight of the prehistoric Uffington White Horse, so the surrounding landscape is scattered with old hedgerows, farmed fields and remains of ancient earthworks.
The village has medieval roots and a compact village centre with a parish church, village hall and local clubs; its economy is largely rural agriculture mixed with commuters who work in nearby towns. The combination of a tight-knit community, historic buildings and easy access to long-distance walking routes gives Childrey a quietly distinctive rural character.
