Loxford is a ward in the London Borough of Redbridge, lying just south of Ilford town centre. It is largely residential, with pockets of green space such as Loxford Park and a mix of Victorian, inter‑war and post‑war housing along roads like Loxford Lane, while good bus links and proximity to Ilford make it a convenient commuter neighbourhood.
The area is notable for its cultural diversity, with large South Asian and other minority communities supporting a lively local high street, community centres, places of worship and schools such as Loxford School. Historically rural before suburban expansion in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Loxford today combines everyday local retail and services with a strong community feel and active neighbourhood organisations.
