Oughtibridge is a small village on the north‑western fringe of the city of Sheffield in England, sitting in the steep valley where the River Don runs through. Its setting gives a pleasing mix of terraced streets and riverside green space, with easy access to nearby towns such as Stocksbridge and the rolling countryside of the Peak District beyond.
Historically the settlement grew around water‑powered mills and metalworking during the 18th and 19th centuries, and traces of that industrial past survive alongside a largely residential, commuter character today. The village retains local shops, pubs, a primary school and community groups, with light industrial units and small manufacturers on the edge; its riverside location and surrounding hills also make it popular for walking and outdoor recreation.
