Acton Scott is a small, rural parish in Shropshire, set among rolling pastures and hedgerows a few miles west of Church Stretton and close to the Long Mynd within the Shropshire Hills AONB. The landscape is characteristically quiet and agricultural, with stone cottages and lanes giving it a classic country feel and a very small, close-knit population.
The parish is best known for the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm, a long‑standing estate with historic links to the Acton family that has showcased traditional skills, Victorian-era farming and attracted visitors and school groups; agriculture and rural tourism remain important locally. Historic buildings, community events centred on the farm and easy access to the surrounding hill country make it a popular, low-key base for walkers and anyone interested in rural heritage.
