Alveley is a rural village and civil parish in Shropshire, England, tucked into the wooded Severn Valley beside the River Severn a few miles north of Bridgnorth. The area is characterised by rolling farmland and nearby ancient woodland of the Wyre Forest, and it benefits from easy access to the preserved Severn Valley Railway and the visitor-friendly Severn Valley Country Park.
Historically the parish was agricultural but saw a strong coal-mining phase in the 20th century; the former colliery site has since been reclaimed as parkland and nature reserve, signalling a shift towards conservation, leisure and commuter living. The village retains a lively community feel centred on its village hall, church and local events, with active wildlife and conservation groups making the most of the river, woods and rural character.
