Faraday is an inner‑city ward in the London Borough of Southwark, in central London, England. It sits close to Elephant and Castle and Walworth, with the busy commercial spine of the Old Kent Road nearby, so residents have fast transport links into the West End and the City by Underground and numerous bus routes.
The area mixes Victorian terraces with post‑war council housing and pockets of recent redevelopment, and it takes its name from the scientist Michael Faraday. Socially and culturally it is diverse, with longstanding immigrant communities, local markets and active community groups; at the same time regeneration pressures around Elephant and Castle and the Old Kent Road bring both new investment and debates about housing, services and change.
