South Bermondsey is a compact area in the London Borough of Southwark, situated south of the River Thames and just east of Bermondsey. It centres on South Bermondsey station and occupies a patchwork of former railway sidings, light industrial sites and newer housing, with easy rail links into central London.
Historically shaped by rail and industry and crossed by the route of the old Surrey Canal, the neighbourhood has seen steady regeneration while retaining a strong local, working‑class identity. It is probably best known for being home to The Den, the stadium of Millwall, and for a mix of small businesses, social housing and recent developments that mirror changes across south-east London.
