Rocester is a village and civil parish in East Staffordshire, Staffordshire, England, sited where the River Dove cuts a limestone valley close to the county boundary with Derbyshire and a few miles from Uttoxeter. The village occupies a long‑used riverside site with Roman remains and a history of water‑powered mills, and a compact core of historic buildings including the parish church and old mill structures.
Today Rocester is best known as the home of the JCB headquarters, factory and museum, which are major local employers and shape much of the village’s economy. It remains a small, sociable community with pubs and clubs, popular countryside walks along the River Dove and easy access to the wider hills of the Peak District, while offering convenient links to nearby towns for commuters and visitors.
