Stone Rural sits on the fringes of the market town of Stone within the borough of Stafford, in Staffordshire, England. The parish is largely low-lying agricultural countryside in the Trent valley, with hedgerows, farmsteads and small hamlets punctuated by the Trent and Mersey Canal and the nearby River Trent, which together attract walkers, anglers and boaters.
Historically the area has grown up around farming and canal-era trade, so you still find 18th- and 19th-century bridges, warehouses and rural cottages alongside modern commuter housing. Local life is centred on village halls and pubs, a parish council ethos of preserving rural character, and close economic and social links with Stone and surrounding towns for markets, services and light industry.
