Barlaston is a small village in the borough of Stafford, in Staffordshire, England, set on the edge of gently rolling Staffordshire countryside between Stone and Stoke-on-Trent. The village lies close to the Trent and Mersey Canal and the River Trent, which give it a pleasant riverside and canal-side character popular with walkers and narrowboat visitors, while still serving as a commuter base for nearby towns.
Barlaston has a long cultural connection with pottery - the Wedgwood works were established nearby - and the village is also known for the early Georgian country house Barlaston Hall. Locally there’s a strong village community centred on the parish church, pubs and village hall, with the larger urban centres of Stoke-on-Trent and Stafford providing most employment and services.
