Hazel Grove is a suburban ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport, in Greater Manchester, lying on the busy A6 corridor about eight miles south‑east of Manchester. Historically part of Cheshire, it grew up around transport links - most notably its railway station - which turned it into a commuter-friendly locality while leaving easy access to the hills and walking country on the edge of the Peak District.
The area combines a compact town centre of independent shops, cafés and pubs with pockets of light industry and residential streets, giving it a mixed but community‑focused character. Local history is reflected in Victorian buildings and street names, and residents value the nearby open spaces and straightforward rail and road links that make it popular with families and commuters alike.
