Great Bealings is a small village and civil parish in East Suffolk, in rural Suffolk, England, a few miles south of Ipswich and west of Woodbridge. It sits among rolling farmland and winding lanes typical of the Suffolk countryside, with nearby footpaths and ponds that give it a quiet, rural character and easy access to the estuary landscape around the River Deben and the Suffolk coast.
The village has a long history - settlements in the Bealings are recorded since medieval times - and retains several listed buildings and a parish church at its heart. Today it is largely agricultural with some residents commuting to nearby towns, and it sustains a close-knit community life through local events, a village hall and parish council that reflect the traditional village social scene; the neighbouring Little Bealings and other nearby hamlets share many services and local ties.
