Reydon is a coastal parish in the district of East Suffolk, in the county of Suffolk, England, lying immediately inland from the seaside town of Southwold and overlooking the River Blyth estuary. Its position on the Suffolk coast, close to the protected landscapes of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB, gives it a mix of saltmarsh, dunes and arable countryside; that setting makes tourism, second homes and small local services important to the local economy, alongside traditional agriculture and links to the wider coastal fishing and maritime community.
The village grew up in the 19th and early 20th centuries as Southwold became a popular seaside destination, and today has a quiet residential character with a strong local identity centred on village amenities and clubs. Residents value the easy access to coastal reserves such as RSPB Minsmere and the long-standing issues of coastal change and conservation feature in local life, while the close relationship with nearby Southwold means cultural and social life often overlaps with the larger town.
