Map of the UK

Covehithe is a tiny coastal village and civil parish on the North Sea in East Suffolk, Suffolk, England, situated between Southwold and Lowestoft. It’s characterised by wide shingle beaches, low grassy cliffs and dramatic coastal erosion that has steadily reclaimed farmland and buildings, giving the shoreline a particularly windswept and remote feel.

Historically notable for the atmospheric ruined medieval St Andrew's Church standing close to the cliff edge and for traces of a larger settlement lost to the sea, the community today is very small and mainly agricultural. Conservation, coastal management and the draw for walkers and birdwatchers shape local life, and the long views across marshes and open sea make it a distinctive and fragile corner of the Suffolk coast.
