Trimley St. Mary is a compact village and civil parish in East Suffolk, Suffolk, England, sitting just west of Felixstowe and next to coastal marshes that front the River Orwell. The landscape is dominated by views of the container terminals at the Port of Felixstowe and by protected wetlands such as Trimley Marshes, while the Felixstowe branch line serves the area at Trimley station, making it convenient for commuters to Ipswich and beyond.
Historically a small parish with a long-established village core and a historic parish church, Trimley St. Mary expanded with 19th–20th century transport and port development. Today it has a mixture of long-standing local families and newer commuters, modest local shops and clubs, and a strong local interest in wildlife and conservation of the surrounding marshes, with neighbouring Trimley St. Martin often regarded as part of the same community network.
