Inglesham is a tiny civil parish in the Borough of Swindon on the northern fringe of Wiltshire, sitting close to the county boundary with Gloucestershire. It lies beside the upper reaches of the River Thames near where the River Cole joins, and close to the line of the old Thames and Severn Canal, giving the parish a riverside, wet‑meadow character with reedbeds and a network of public footpaths.
Historically agricultural and sparsely populated, the settlement is best known for its small medieval church and the visible legacy of river navigation and canal activity. There are few services within the parish itself, so residents generally travel to nearby Lechlade or Swindon; local life tends to revolve around farming, nature conservation, visitor walking and the occasional community event.
