Rodbourne Cheney is a suburb and electoral ward to the north of Swindon in Wiltshire, once a separate village that was absorbed as the town expanded. The area contains a mix of Victorian terraces and post‑war council housing, with small parades of shops, schools and community facilities, and benefits from good links to the town centre and the M4 corridor for commuters.
The name preserves a medieval feel and the ward has historic ties to Swindon’s industrial growth, with many streets originally housing workers from local works. Today it is a socially mixed neighbourhood with active community groups and nearby green spaces that give it a quieter, residential character despite its urban setting.
