Melksham Without is a largely rural civil parish that surrounds the market town of Melksham in Wiltshire, England. It contains a scattering of villages and hamlets such as Beanacre, Shaw and Whitley alongside the Bowerhill business and industrial area, with farmland, hedgerows and small woods forming much of the landscape and the Kennet and Avon Canal and the River Avon running close by.
The parish mixes traditional agriculture with light industry and commuter housing, and local life revolves around village halls, sports clubs and the parish council; historic ties with the market town and improved road and rail links have shaped steady growth while retaining a distinctly rural character that attracts people working in nearby centres such as Bath and Bristol.
