The village and civil parish of Lilleshall sits within the borough of Telford and Wrekin in north-eastern Shropshire, a few miles north of Telford. It retains a distinctly rural character, with rolling farmland, pockets of mixed woodland and pleasant walking country that give good views across the surrounding Shropshire landscape.
Locally the parish is notable for the atmospheric ruins of Lilleshall Abbey and the grand house and grounds at Lilleshall Hall, which have long been associated with sports and training facilities. That mix of monastic and country‑house heritage, a traditional parish church and leisure amenities means the local economy is largely residential and agricultural, supplemented by modest tourism, recreation and sporting activity serving the wider region.
