Bow East sits in the eastern part of Tower Hamlets in East London, close to the River Lea and within easy reach of Victoria Park and the legacy of the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. It is well served by public transport, notably Bow Road tube and the nearby Bow Church DLR, which give quick connections into the City and Stratford.
The ward is a mix of Victorian terraces, post‑war social housing and newer riverside developments, and has a strong local high street culture centred on the Roman Road market with its independent shops and cafes. Historically the wider Bow area was home to the 18th‑century Bow porcelain works and the famous Bow Bells; today the neighbourhood combines long‑standing immigrant communities, active local groups and the tensions of regeneration and rising housing demand.
