Ryton-on-Dunsmore is a village in the borough of Rugby, Warwickshire, England, sitting just south‑west of Coventry on the edge of the Dunsmore plateau. It is bordered by the River Sowe and is best known locally for Ryton Pools Country Park, a reclaimed lakes-and-wetland area with walking trails, birdlife and informal recreation that draws visitors from the wider region.
Traditionally a rural settlement with a parish church and village community, Ryton-on-Dunsmore gained wider economic significance in the 20th century through a large car factory on its outskirts; the plant’s closure in the 2000s changed the local economy and led to a shift towards distribution, light industry and commuter housing. Today it remains a close‑knit village with pubs, a village hall and sports clubs, valued for its green open spaces and easy access to nearby towns and transport routes.
