Roade is a village and civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, set just off the main north–south transport spine of the country. Its position beside the Watling Street (A5), within easy reach of the M1, the West Coast Main Line and the nearby Grand Union Canal has long given it a transport-linked character, and today it’s a popular commuter base for places such as Northampton and Milton Keynes, with some light industry and an industrial estate serving the local economy.
Despite those modern connections, Roade retains a strong village feel with community institutions, pubs, a village hall and sports clubs, and a mix of older buildings reflecting its longer history as a stopping place on historic routes. Its rural setting also puts it within easy reach of leisure destinations such as the Silverstone area, making it a practical but characterful place to live.
