Hookwood

Hookwood is a small settlement on the northern edge of Crawley in West Sussex, England, lying close to the Surrey border and within easy reach of Gatwick Airport. Historically it grew up as a rural hamlet surrounded by farmland and woodlands, and its location between the more built-up parts of Crawley and the quieter villages to the north gives it a semi-rural character.

The area today mixes older cottages and converted farm buildings with more modern housing; many residents commute to nearby towns, the airport or London, while local life remains relatively quiet. Proximity to major transport links has brought change and some light industry nearby, but the community still retains a village feel with easy access to both countryside and urban amenities.
